Do I prefer morning or evening training?
Chuck Norris and I found that the best time of day for our training was late everyday when classes were done. This worked as we had lots of early classes. Later, as our schools grew in number, our number of quality black belts had grown, so we were able to teach less. With our newly freed time, we found that early morning workouts worked better for us, as we were fresh and loved the "no excuse" workout in the mornings. We’d get out of bed and head straight to the workout. The morning workouts helped us feel better all day, as the early workouts invigorated us and would keep us alert. We have continued the early morning workouts to this day. Some people say they don’t have time, but we just got up earlier to make time for our workouts. The routine is: Roll out of bed, workout, shower, eat a great breakfast (mostly fruits, juices or water, and a protein), and you’re ready for a great day! Training partners can be a terrific assist to improving your skills, condition, and especially motivation if you make the workouts friendly, respectful, and competitive. Constantly work to improve your flexibility, timing, footwork, conditioning, speed, and power. These types of workouts are hugely beneficial in getting better and better; focusing on the pride you feel in your improved skills.
